Our Story of Compassion

Our Mission
Numan Children's Home, based in Assela, Ethiopia, is dedicated to providing essential support to children, women and families in need. Our focus is on creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive mentally, physically, and emotionally. An enviorment where women are empowered and families stay whole. Through our initiatives, we aim to positively impact the lives of underprivileged children by offering education, care, and support. Empower women to achieve their goals and keeping families together to put an end to the Orphan crisis in Ethiopia.
Our Ongoing Initiatives
Changing Lives Every Day
Education
Empowering children with knowledge
We are currently building a new school that will not only serve the children living at Numan but also the community. The new location of Numan Children’s Home will be in the heart of a beautiful yet impoverished community Having a nearby school that offers quality education and the opportunity for children be sponsored will be life-changing. In the future, we hope to start a preschool for both mothers and stay-at-home mothers. Both our school and future preschool will provide school meals for free, ensuring that each child receives balanced and healthy nutrition.
Building a new home
Permanency
We have been working hard since 2023 to ensure our children have a permanent home with room for them to grow. The security of a forever home is vital. We successfully purchased our land in 2024 and broke ground in October of that year. As of April of 2025 the new home is nearing completion. The foundation for our new school was also ready to go! We expect to be in our home by spring of 2026!
Nutrition
Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds
Proper nutrition is crucial for a child's growth and development. At Numan, we offer balanced meals, but we also the children in our community who are uncertain about their next meal We assist families in need by providing provisions, and during the Covid pandemic, we supported over 50 families with essential food supplies. Furthermore we will continue to provide meals for the children attending our school.
